Akron, Ohio, June 6, 2023 – The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company (NASDAQ: GT) unveiled the Urban Max BSAEV, a tire engineered for electric buses, aiming to enhance efficiency and sustainability in transit fleets nationwide. Developed in collaboration with GILLIG, a renowned manufacturer of heavy-duty American transit buses, the Urban Max BSAEV prioritises low rolling resistance to optimise range and handle heavier loads.

Designed as a fitment option for select GILLIG Battery Electric buses and municipal EV fleets, the Urban Max BSAEV 315/80R22.5 boasts an impressive load capacity of 10,200 pounds (load range L). This enhanced load capacity enables electric buses, including GILLIG’s latest Battery Electric model, to accommodate additional battery packs, resulting in extended range capabilities.
