Tire Burst Forces Flight from Las Vegas to Return Meta
A tire burst during takeoff compelled a Chicago bound flight from Las Vegas to return to Harry Reid International Airport. The incident occurred this Tuesday morning, affecting Southwest Airlines Flight 1209 carrying 148 passengers and crew members.
Departing at 7:52 a.m. for Midway International Airport, the aircraft notified airport personnel around 9:20 a.m. of the necessity to go back to Las Vegas, as confirmed by a spokesperson from Reid airport.
After reaching Dove Creek, Colorado, the flight made a U-turn, as reported by the Flightradar24 Twitter account. At 10:22 a.m., the aircraft successfully landed, ensuring the safety of everyone onboard.
Southwest Airlines spokesperson Dan Landson explained that a thorough review would be conducted on the original aircraft while another plane would continue the flight to Chicago.
